Mark has 20+ years experience in aviation and unmanned aerial operations. He runs Canadian Drone Consulting Inc., a drone consulting firm that provides services and training in the commercial and industrial sectors.
Who we are
We are a startup attempting to tackle complex challenges using simple approaches enabled by the advent of AI. Our first project - codenamed VAAT - will be revealed in the coming months. More details to come.

Aviation context
Operational safety and airspace management are our core focus areas. With 20+ years in aviation and unmanned aerial operations, we understand the challenges ahead—automation, airspace congestion, and operating safely at scale.
Applied AI
Scalable local AI solutions that can be deployed on-premise or in the cloud, prioritizing privacy and control. We are implementing a new approach to AI that allows for complex operations using very little processing power.
Standalone or Integrated
We build our software with integration in mind. Though our tools can be used as standalone systems, we expose APIs to allow our workflows to feed data into existing infrastructure.
What we are building

About the founders
Mark Hovdestad and Stephane Charpentier founded SkAI Fusion in 2025 after a discussion led to a novel approach for an airspace awareness tool. Our goal is to use AI tools to boost aviation and airport operational safety in a way that complements existing safety systems.
Stephane Charpentier
Co-founder and CTO
Stephane is a software developer with 10+ years experience in software development and a recent passion for AI. He has led and contributed to several development efforts in both the public and private sectors. He runs KuzCorp, a software development and consulting firm.
